Sandy Beach Resort Noosa - Family Holiday Accommodation TWO WEDDINGS 36 HOLES AND A MONSTER TUNA

Robbie Turnbull was caught off guard when his wife Cheryl told him they were going to two weddings within a week of each other. He also didn't know that meant booking flights to Brisbane and driving up the coast to stay for a week. The Turnbull's nephew Adrian was getting married to his childhood sweetheart on Sunday the 5th of June and the neighbours daughter Jessica would wed the following Saturday. The two couples planned their weddings independently and coincidentally both chose Noosa for the special occasion.

Once Robbie realised there was no way out he spent some time on the Internet checking out what he could do in-between the weddings. Cheryl had already warned him she would be spending her days with the girls and that he was on his own. Robbie typed Noosa into Goggle and was pleasantly surprised to discover the abundance of things to do in and around Noosa. Being an old surfer it was nice to see Noosa had world class surf, even if he wouldn't be dusting off his old 9'6 Classic Malibu for the journey.

These days Robbie tries to get onto the golf course as often as possible. Robbie also likes to go fishing with his mates on their 30' Boston Whaler. There are several excellent golf courses within a half hour drive of Noosa and ample choices for fishing charters. Robbie planned his week carefully and was now quite pleased Cheryl had her own plans.

Everything about Noosa is welcoming and friendly. The people, the casual dress, the variety of retailers, friendly shop assistants, smiling restaurant staff, tour operators and even the bus drivers reinforce your presence is appreciated. Although Noosa is as trendy as any place in Hawaii, it retains a small village feel. There are no high rises in Noosa. A three story building height limit ensures the hotels and resorts blend nicely into the tropical shrubbery.

Hastings Street is Noosa's most famous address but the Turnbull's booked their accommodation in Noosaville because of its reputation for excellent dining choices along Gympie Terrace. Gympie Terrace is located along the Noosa River in Noosaville, five minute's drive from Hastings Street. Noosaville is fast becoming the accommodation destination of choice in Noosa because it's easy access, close proximity to everything, laid back / relaxed atmosphere.

The Turnbull's stayed at Sandy Beach Resort, one of Noosaville's most attractive small resorts. They enjoyed the classical Queensland architecture nestled into the tropical gardens. Each spacious luxury apartment is fully self-contained with all the bells and whistles. The units include two TVs with Austar, an ensuite off the Master bedroom, private balconies, Video/DVD player, CD players, Direct Dial phones and Broadband Internet connection for travellers with laptops. The resort facilities include two large swimming pools (one heated year-round) a big spa pool, Swedish Sauna, and an excellent covered BBQ area. As Robbie said "We were blown away by the quality and the value for money."

Robbie planned his free time well. Monday he recuperated from the wedding reception by spending most the day watching tennis, golf and footy run-runs on Fox Sports. Tuesday was another hard day spent watching the surfers tear up the point break at National Park and counting bikinis on Noosa's main beach. A round of golf at Noosa Valley took up most of Wednesday and Thursday Robbie managed to break 80 at Noosa Springs. At 6:00 am on Friday it was down to the wharf for a day of Off Shore fishing with Laguna Charters. Around 2:30 Robbie landed the biggest fish of his life a 28kg tuna, just minutes before the charter was set to start the return journey. Cheryl and Robbie were able to spend some quality time together in the evenings dining at a different restaurant on Gympie Terrace every night.

Robbie had this to say about his week in Noosa: "I was a reluctant husband being dragged along to two weddings within a week. What started off sounding like a drag turned into a real adventure. The week was one of the greatest I've had in my life. Noosa is a holiday destination that we'll come back to again and again. I'm already planning a get-away with the boys in the not-to-distant future."
